Understanding service & processing fees in Park

Understand the costs associated with processing payments through Park

Park is designed to be a flexible, low-risk solution for managing your business. That’s why there are no fixed costs or minimum fees to use the system — you will never receive a bill from us.

This article explains the two types of fees that may apply to reservations and payments: the Park service fee and the Stripe processing fee.

🏕️ Park’s Service Fee

The service fee is how Park earns revenue. It is proportional to the payment amount, and varies based on how the payment is made:

How the Reservation is Made
Service Fee Applied
Guest books online
Higher service fee
Reservation created by an admin (Including Point of Sale or Invoice payments)
Lower service fee
Payment received outside the system (cash, check, etc.)
No fee

Who Pays the Service Fee?

By default, the guest pays the service fee — it’s added on top of the reservation total at checkout.

However, if you prefer, you can choose to absorb the service fee, so your guests won’t see any extra charges. This can be a great way to encourage online booking or simplify the guest experience.

🏦 Stripe’s Payment Processing Fee

Any time a digital payment is processed through Stripe (credit card, ACH, etc.), a processing fee is applied. This fee goes directly to Stripe — not to Park.

💳 Card Payment Fees (by country):

Country
Fee Rate
United States
2.9% + 30¢ per transaction
Canada
2.9% + 30¢ per transaction
Australia
1.7% + 30¢ per transaction
New Zealand
2.7% + 30¢ per transaction
European Union
1.5% + 25¢ per transaction
💡 Additional fees may apply for international cards or currency conversion.

🏦 ACH / Bank Transfers:

For U.S. customers, ACH payments are a great low-cost option:

  • Fee: 0.8% per transaction, capped at $5

Because these payments take several days to process, they are only available for guests paying a long-term invoice, and can not be submitted by guests booking a reservation online.

Who Pays the Processing Fee?

Most businesses choose to absorb the processing fee, which is common practice.

However, you can choose to pass Stripe’s processing fee to guests. If you need to make changes to your processing fees, please reach out to our support team at support@poweredbypark.com.

✅ No Fixed Costs, Just Flexible Pricing

Park doesn’t charge any upfront fees or monthly subscriptions. Whether you’re taking your first online booking or managing a full season, you only pay when you get paid — and you control how those fees are handled.
