Events allow you to temporarily adjust pricing and availability rules for specific dates—perfect for busy periods like holidays, festivals, or fair weeks. Instead of changing your base rates, you can create an event that automatically applies special pricing or booking restrictions during a set time frame.
This guide will walk you through how to create an event, adjust prices, and manage booking rules in your Admin Dashboard.
When should you use events?
Events are helpful when you want to:
- Increase prices during high-demand periods
- Set minimum stay requirements
- Limit check-in or check-out days
- Adjust availability rules for specific site types
- Temporarily override your normal rate plans
Examples include:
- Holiday weekends
- Local festivals or fairs
- Peak summer weekends
- Campground-hosted events
Please note that if you are using the built-in holiday or weekend fees these will be applied on top of any date-based prices. These fees can be edited from your camping style settings.
How can you create an event?
Follow these steps to create a new event in your Admin Dashboard.
- In your reservations page, click the dropdown menu next to the “Create reservation” button.
- Select “Create event.”
This will open the New Event window. If you already have existing events, you can also open this window by using drag-and-drop directly in the events row.
In the event window:
- Enter a Title for the event.
- Example: Fair Week, Memorial Day Weekend, or Fall Festival
- Select the start and end dates for the event.
These dates determine when the pricing and availability rules apply.
Setting event pricing
The Pricing section allows you to temporarily override your existing rate plans.
How to Update Prices
- Use the search bar to find a rate plan.
- Example: RV Sites
- A list of existing prices will appear.
- Enter the new prices you want to apply during the event.
Guests booking during the event dates will receive the event pricing instead of the base rate. If you wish to set prices for multiple rate plans, click the button to “add event prices for other sites” at the bottom of the window.
Setting availability rules
Next, configure booking restrictions in the Availability tab.
Click Availability at the top of the event editor.
Here you can control:
- Minimum stay requirements
- If the box for “inside event dates” is checked, guests will be required to book this many days within the event itself. Otherwise, they can satisfy the minimum by booking extra days outside of the event dates.
- Check-in restrictions
- Check-out restrictions
- Which site types the rules apply to
Once everything is set, click Create Event. Your event will now appear in the event bar at the top of the page.
Viewing and editing existing events
To manage existing events:
- Look for the event bar at the top of the dashboard.
- Click the expand button to view all events.
- Select the event you want.
From there you can:
- Edit pricing
- Adjust availability rules
- Change event dates
- Update site types
How events affect reservations
Once an event is active:
- New reservations automatically use the event pricing
- Minimum stays and restrictions are enforced
For example:
- If an event sets a 2-night minimum, guests must book at least two nights during those dates.
- If prices increase for RV sites, reservations are priced at the event rate instead of the base rate.
