How to set up an interactive map for your booking page

An interactive map can improve your online booking process by giving guests another way to select their preferred site. This article explains how guests use the map and how to configure it from your Admin Dashboard.

Park’s interactive map gives guests another way to explore and select an available site during the online booking process. The interactive map does not replace the existing site-selection experience. Guests can still browse and select sites from the standard list, while the map provides an additional visual way to compare locations and find the site that works best for them.

📈

Our data shows that booking flows with interactive maps have a higher conversion rate, meaning guests are more likely to complete their reservation.

In this article, we’ll explain how guests use the interactive map and walk through how to place site markers, customize them, and publish your interactive map from your Admin Dashboard.

You’ll need to use a computer (instead of a mobile device like a phone or tablet) to set up your interactive map. If you don't see the option to edit your interactive map, try making your browser window larger and/or closing any open side menus.

How Guests Use the Interactive Map

The interactive map appears on the Site Selection page of the online Booker. The sites displayed on the map are based on the category and dates selected by the guest. Guests can use the plus and minus buttons to zoom in or out on the map.

Each site is represented by a circular marker:

  • A colored marker means the site is available for the selected dates.
  • A gray marker means the site is unavailable.

When guests click a site marker, a small preview window appears with information about that site, which may include:

  • Site photos (if they have been uploaded)
  • Site name
  • Electricity and length details
  • Price per night
  • Additional site information

To choose an available site, the guest can click Select. This selects the corresponding site from the list and expands its details so the guest can review its amenities.

Guests can continue exploring the map until they find the site they want, then proceed through to the final checkout page as usual.

Set Up Your Interactive Map

1. Open the Interactive Map Editor

From your Admin Dashboard, go to Settings and select Interactive Map from the left bar.

The editor will display the park map currently uploaded to your Admin Dashboard. This is the same map guests see during online booking.

2. Add Your Sites

Click Add Sites in the upper-left corner.

A scrollable list of your park’s sites will appear on the left side of the screen.

You can place a site marker in two ways:

  • Drag the marker from the site list to the correct location on the map.
  • Use the crosshair cursor to click directly on the site’s location.

When using the crosshair, the editor will place the currently selected site from the list. You can use the site dropdown to choose a different site before placing the marker.

Confirm the correct site and click Save, or press Enter on your keyboard.

3. Continue Placing Your Sites

Repeat the placement process until each site has a marker in the correct location.

Use the legend to confirm which marker colors represent your RV sites, cabins, tent sites, or other site categories.

You can also use the plus and minus buttons to zoom in or out when placing markers in precise locations.

Once all markers have been placed, click Done.

4. Adjust the Marker Display

After placing your sites, you can make additional adjustments to how the markers appear.

To resize every marker at once, change the Default Marker Size in the upper-right corner.

To edit an individual marker, click it directly. From the marker settings window, you can:

  • Change the marker’s size with the slider
  • Add a custom label
  • Remove the marker using the trash icon

Close the settings window when your changes are complete.

5. Enable the Interactive Map

⚠️

If a camping category is configured to prevent guests from choosing a specific site, the interactive map will not be available for that category. To let guests select a site from the map, submit a help ticket and we’d be happy to update this setting for you.

When you are ready to make the map available to guests, turn on the Interactive Map toggle in the upper-right corner.

You will be asked to confirm that you want to activate the map. Click Confirm to publish it in the online Booker.

Your interactive map is now live.
