Learn the basics of editing reservations

✏️ How to Edit a Reservation

You can edit reservations directly from the Reservations Calendar by dragging and dropping them or by opening the reservation details slideover.

This makes it easy to:

  • Extend a stay
  • Move a guest to a different site
  • Change guest, site, dates, notes, and invoice details

Important note for long-term reservations

Check out our article on How to Extend a Long-Term Reservation to learn how to use the Extend Reservation functionality if a guest wants to stay for an additional month or extend their long-term reservation.

If a guest wants to stay longer, you can quickly extend their reservation from the calendar.

  1. Go to the Reservations Calendar.
  1. Find the reservation you want to edit.
  1. Hover over the end of the reservation.
  1. Click and drag the reservation to the new end date.
  1. Use the buttons at the top of the screen to either:
      • Cancel the change, or
      • Confirm the change
  1. After confirming, the system will suggest an updated price. You can choose to accept this new price, or leave the invoice with the original values.
  1. You’ll also be asked whether you want to send the guest a confirmation message.
  1. Click Update to save your changes.

What happens after the update?

Once updated, the reservation will reflect the new end date. You may also see payment amounts shown in different colors:

  • Dark green = amount the guest has already paid
  • Light green = amount the guest still owes

This helps you quickly see the difference between what has been paid and what is still due.

🚚 How to Move a Reservation to a Different Site

If a guest wants to switch sites, you can move the reservation with drag and drop.

  1. In the Reservations Calendar, find the reservation.
  1. Click and drag the reservation to the new site.
  1. Drop it into the correct site row.
  1. Click Confirm.
  1. Choose whether you want to send a confirmation message to the guest.
  1. Click Update.

The reservation will now appear under the new site.

🛠️ Other Ways to Edit a Reservation

You can also click directly on a reservation to open the reservation details panel.

From there, you can:

  • Check in the guest
  • Change the site
  • Update the check-in date
  • Update the check-out date
  • Add reservation notes
  • Edit the guest information
  • Switch the reservation to an existing guest
  • Create a new guest
  • Edit the invoice
  • Add line items to the invoice
  • Update the total owed in the invoice
  • Send the invoice to the guest

This is the best option when you need to make more detailed changes all in one place.

💡 Tips

  • Use drag and drop for quick site and date changes.
  • Use the reservation details panel for guest, invoice, and note updates.
